Salman Khan Returns to Galwan Battle Film Set for 15 More Days of Shooting: Report

Salman Khan has returned to the set of his upcoming war drama, "Battle of Galwan," for a 15-day additional shoot schedule to enhance the film with crucial scenes and action sequences. The film, directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salman Khan Films, is slated for release on April 17.

The decision to extend the shoot came after Salman Khan and the filmmakers recognized that certain scenes were essential to the narrative and would significantly contribute to the film's overall impact. A source close to the production revealed that the additional filming includes both "patchwork" and the addition of new scenes, some of which will feature intense action. The source emphasized Salman's commitment to delivering a great cinematic experience, stating, "Salman doesn't want to leave any stone unturned and wants to ensure that Battle Of Galwan turns out to be a great experience for the viewers. Accordingly, he wholeheartedly agreed to the additional shoot".

"Battle of Galwan" is inspired by the events of June 15, 2020, when Indian and Chinese soldiers clashed in the Galwan Valley. The film is based on a chapter from the book "India's Most Fearless 3" (2022) by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Salman Khan portrays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, in a story that depicts the courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers defending their nation against overwhelming odds. The film depicts a conflict where 200 Indian soldiers stood against 1,200 Chinese troops. Chitrangada Singh also stars in the film.

The first song from "Battle of Galwan," titled "Maatrubhumi," was released on January 24,. The song, sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal with lyrics by Sameer Anjaan and music by Himesh Reshammiya, offers glimpses into the emotional core of the film, showcasing Salman Khan's character as a soldier and his relationship with his on-screen wife, played by Chitrangada Singh. Notably, the film marks Salman Khan's first portrayal of a father.

With the release date drawing closer, the filmmakers are confident that the additional shoot will be completed in time for a smooth theatrical release on April 17. "Battle of Galwan" is among Salman Khan's upcoming movies, which include "Tiger vs Pathaan" and "The Bull".
