Parmeet Sethi's Humility: Remembering a Time When He Overestimated Himself Compared to Suniel Shetty's Talent.

In a recent interview, actor and director Parmeet Sethi shared a surprising anecdote from his early days in the film industry, revealing that he once harbored the mistaken belief that he was a superior actor to Suniel Shetty. Sethi recounted this during a conversation about his career and early aspirations.

According to the Hindustan Times, Sethi and Shetty attended the same acting school. It was during this period that Sethi confessed to feeling he possessed more talent than Shetty. However, with the benefit of hindsight and experience, Sethi now views that perception with a sense of embarrassment.

"I feel so embarrassed," Sethi stated, reflecting on his past arrogance. He did not elaborate on the specifics of what led him to believe he was better than Shetty, but the comment suggests a youthful overconfidence that he now recognizes as unfounded.

Sethi's career began with the television show Kurukshetra in 1994, followed by his Bollywood debut in the blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), where he played the role of Kuljit. He further appeared in films like Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Mela, Dhadkan, Lakshya, Badmaash Company, and Dil Dhadakne Do. He has also been a part of popular television shows such as Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.

Besides acting, Sethi has also directed projects.

The actor also opened up about his relationship with his wife, Archana Puran Singh. He revealed that a significant challenge in their relationship was the age gap, as he was younger than her, and also not financially stable at the time. He recalled venturing into an export business, and after initial success, began planning to expand, but faced challenges.

Sethi's candid confession provides a glimpse into the insecurities and inflated egos that can sometimes plague young actors. His willingness to acknowledge his past misjudgment demonstrates a level of self-awareness and humility that is often appreciated by fans and industry peers alike.
