Allan Saint-Maximin exits Newcastle following racist abuse directed at his children.

Allan Saint-Maximin's tenure with Club America has come to an abrupt end after just a few months, following racist attacks directed at his children. The French winger, formerly a star for Newcastle United, joined the Liga MX club in August on a two-year contract reportedly worth $10 million. However, he made only 15 appearances before his sudden departure on Saturday.

The club formally announced Saint-Maximin's departure two days after he revealed the racist abuse targeting his children. While neither Saint-Maximin nor Club America disclosed specific details regarding the incidents, the club issued a statement expressing solidarity with the player and his family. "We reiterate our strong condemnation of any act of discrimination and/or violence that violates human dignity, both on and off the field," the statement read. The club added, "We express our absolute solidarity with Allan Saint-Maximin and his family, who have the support of everyone who is part of this institution. Thank you so much for wearing our colors Allan Saint-Maximin".

Saint-Maximin addressed the situation in a powerful statement on Instagram. He emphasized his unwavering commitment to protecting his children from such attacks. "The problem is not skin color, it is the color of thoughts," Saint-Maximin wrote. "People attack me, but that's not a problem. I grew up learning to fight back against attacks, whether they are subtle, hidden or direct," he continued. He asserted, "But there is one thing I will never tolerate, and that is people attacking my children. Protecting my children is my priority. I will fight with all my strength to ensure that they are respected and loved, regardless of their origins or skin color". Saint-Maximin also sent a direct message to those responsible: "So, to those who dared to attack my children, I say this: you...".

Saint-Maximin's strong stance against racism has resonated within the football community. His message highlights the importance of protecting children from discrimination and fighting for a safe and respectful environment for all families. Prior to joining Club America, Saint-Maximin had stints in Saudi Arabia and Turkey. During his brief time with Club America, he scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists.
