The filming of "Pallichattambi," starring Tovino Thomas, has officially wrapped up, marking the end of what director Dijo Jose Antony has described as a "beautiful journey". The Malayalam action thriller, directed by Dijo Jose Antony, is slated for a worldwide release on April 9, 2026, and will be available in five languages.
"Pallichattambi" is a period drama set in Kerala during the 1950s and 60s. The film tells a story rooted in that era. Alongside Tovino Thomas, the film also stars Kayadu Lohar, National Award-winning actor Vijayaraghavan, Sudheer Karamana, Baburaj, Vinod Kedamangalam, and Prashanth Alex.
Dijo Jose Antony, known for directing successful films such as "Queen" and "Jana Gana Mana," has been sharing updates about the film. In October 2025, as Kayadu Lohar completed her scenes, Antony praised her contribution to the film. He took to Instagram, calling Lohar the "heart of our story" and thanking her for bringing "so much soul, laughter, and magic to every frame". He added that she made the journey unforgettable.
The film is produced by Noufal and Brijesh under the banner of World Wide Films. Charan, Chanukya, Chaithanya, and Tanseer are co-producing the film under C Cube Bro Entertainments. The screenplay is penned by TS Suresh Babu.
The technical crew includes Tijo Tomy as the cinematographer and Jakes Bejoy as the music composer. Dileep Nath is the Art Director, Manjusha Radhakrishnan is the Costume Designer, and Rasheed Ahmed heads the Makeup department. Alex E. Kurian serves as Line Producer, Anil Amballur as Finance Controller, and Rajesh Menon as Production Controller. Rishlal Unnikrishnan is the Stills Photographer, with digital marketing led by Akhil Vishnu V.S., and Akshay Prakash handling PR.
A motion poster was released on social media to announce the release date, featuring Tovino Thomas in a mass look. "Pallichattambi" is considered an important project for director Dijo Jose Antony.
Tovino Thomas recently received a Special Jury Mention at the Kerala State Film Awards for his performance in "ARM". Kayadu Lohar's upcoming films include "Idhayam Murali" with Aakash Baskaran, "STR 49" with Silambarasan TR, and "Parking" directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan.
