Raghav Juyal has reportedly joined the cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s "Ramayana," starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash. He is set to play Meghanad, also known as Indrajit, who is Ravana's eldest son and the crown prince of Lanka. The film is planned to be released in two parts, with the first part expected to hit theaters on Diwali 2026.
"Ramayana" is being touted as one of the biggest Indian films ever made. It features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast includes Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. Furthermore, Lara Dutta will portray Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh will be Surpanakha, Arun Govil will play King Dashrath, and Sheeba Chaddha will be Manthara. Meghanad is a significant character in the Ramayana, known as one of the fiercest warriors. He played a key role in the battle between Lord Rama and Ravana. Meghanad is said to have possessed superhuman powers, including the ability to fight from within the clouds. He is also remembered as the only warrior to have defeated both Lord Rama and Lakshman twice before Lakshman eventually defeated him.
Raghav Juyal was approached for the role after Vikrant Massey and the filmmakers were unable to reach an agreement. Juyal agreed to the part immediately and is expected to begin filming soon.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, "Ramayana" is being shot in IMAX with advanced visual effects. The second part of the film is slated for release on Diwali 2027. Shridhar Raghavan is the writer for the film. A first look from the film is expected to be unveiled soon.
