To facilitate the smooth movement of yoga enthusiasts on International Yoga Day, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that services will commence early, starting at 4:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025. This special arrangement is designed to help people reach various yoga events planned across the city to celebrate the 11th International Day of Yoga.

Metro trains will operate from all originating stations, running at intervals of 30 minutes until the regular daily timetable kicks in. This early start will provide ample time for yoga participants to travel to their desired venues.

The 11th International Day of Yoga in 2025 is themed "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," emphasizing the interconnectedness of well-being, sustainability, and the environment. This theme aligns perfectly with India's broader vision of "One Earth, One Family, One Future," which was highlighted during its G20 presidency.

The government is organizing nationwide events, with the flagship event, Yoga Sangam, featuring a synchronized mass yoga demonstration based on the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) at over 100,000 locations across the country from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the national celebrations in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, reaffirming yoga's global significance for physical and mental health.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has encouraged the residents of Delhi to actively participate in the Yoga Day celebrations, aiming to transform the occasion into a vibrant public festival. She emphasized that collective participation would reinforce the national goal of “One India, Healthy India.” The Delhi government has planned yoga events at 11 locations across the city.

Yoga, derived from the Sanskrit root 'yuj', meaning “to unite” or “to join,” symbolizes the harmony of mind and body, thought and action, and the balance between humans and nature. Recognized globally for its holistic health benefits, yoga has become a universal practice promoting wellness and harmony. The United Nations officially declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga, further solidifying its importance worldwide.
