Theme and Significance

While the official theme for Independence Day 2025 is yet to be announced, it is expected to revolve around the principles of unity, patriotism, growth, and the heritage of India's freedom fighters. Special Guests

The central government will invite 50 of Delhi's best-performing sanitation workers ("Swachhta Karamcharis") as special guests to the Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort. Each zonal office has been directed to submit the names of five sanitation workers, including two men and three women, along with their spouses, to the Ministry of Defence. The selection will be based on their performance and contributions to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in their zones.

Security and Traffic

Intensified security arrangements will be in place in Delhi for the celebrations. Traffic restrictions are expected around key areas such as India Gate, Mandi House, and Mathura Road. Vehicles without parking labels may be advised to avoid these stretches. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will also make necessary arrangements to facilitate transportation.
