Ravi Mohan is reportedly joining the cast of "Benz," an upcoming Tamil-language action thriller and the fourth installment in the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe (LCU). The film, produced by Lokesh Kanagaraj himself, stars Raghava Lawrence in the lead role.
"Benz" is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and co-written by Kanagaraj. The film is part of the LCU, sharing the same world as "Kaithi," "Vikram," and "Leo". Nivin Pauly is reportedly playing the main villain, Walter, in dual roles.
Ravi Mohan will be replacing Madhavan, who was initially part of the project but had to exit due to scheduling conflicts. Sources suggest that Lokesh Kanagaraj personally narrated the character to Ravi Mohan, convincing him to join the project. The role is expected to have significant weight and mass appeal, potentially as a second lead alongside Raghava Lawrence.
The inclusion of Ravi Mohan marks the third major star entry into the LCU, alongside Raghava Lawrence and Nivin Pauly. There is speculation that Ravi Mohan's character may also appear in future LCU films like "Kaithi 2" and "Vikram 2".
"Benz" has already commenced filming. The movie is touted to be a gory and brutal action thriller without a female lead.
Lokesh Kanagaraj is co-producing "Benz" under his G Squad banner, in partnership with Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy. While Kanagaraj's recent film "Coolie" may have disappointed some, the director has the opportunity to make a strong comeback with "Benz" and the upcoming sequels to "Kaithi" and "Vikram".
The addition of Ravi Mohan is seen as a boost to his career, potentially leading to more recognition within the film industry. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of "Benz" and are curious to see how Ravi Mohan's character will unfold within the LCU.
