The Allu family is in mourning following the passing of Allu Kanakaratnam, the wife of the late legendary actor Allu Ramalingaiah and grandmother of actor Allu Arjun. She passed away in Hyderabad on Saturday at the age of 94 due to age-related ailments.
Allu Arjun, who was in Mumbai for a film shoot with director Atlee, rushed back to Hyderabad upon hearing the news of his grandmother's passing. Numerous film stars, political figures, and well-wishers have expressed their condolences to the Allu family.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visited Allu Arjun's residence in Hyderabad to offer his condolences to the bereaved family. Emotional visuals captured Pawan Kalyan embracing a visibly emotional Allu Arjun and later his father, producer Allu Aravind. Pawan Kalyan had returned from a political meeting in Visakhapatnam to visit Allu Arjun.
Megastar Chiranjeevi, who is married to Surekha, Kanakaratnam's daughter, shared an emotional note on social media, confirming the news of her passing. He wrote, "The passing away of Kanakarathnamma Garu, wife of Sri Allu Ramalingayya Garu, is very sorrowful. The love, courage, and life philosophies she exhibited to our families will always be a source of inspiration to us. I pray God that her holy soul reaches peace. Om Shanti". Chiranjeevi is personally overseeing the arrangements for the final rites.
The funeral was held in Kokapet, Hyderabad. Close relatives, including Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, and Chiranjeevi, acted as pallbearers during the procession. A touching moment occurred when Allu Arjun's son, Allu Ayaan, began to cry, prompting the actor to embrace him.
Allu Kanakaratnam was well-known for upholding strong principles throughout her life.
