An Indian blogger and content creator, Yogesh Alekari, known as 'Miss Mumbai Police' on social media, is currently stranded in the United Kingdom after his motorcycle was stolen in Nottingham. Alekari, who was on a solo world tour that began in Mumbai on May 1, 2025, had traveled over 24,000 kilometers across 17 countries before the theft abruptly halted his journey.

Alekari's KTM 390 Adventure motorcycle was stolen on August 28, 2025, from Wollaton Park in Nottingham while he was having breakfast. The bike was fully loaded with his passport, money, travel documents, laptop, cameras, and other essential belongings, effectively making it his "home" during the trip. CCTV footage captured a group of four individuals stealing the motorcycle in broad daylight. Alekari had secured the bike with a heavy-duty lock, but the thieves broke it.

The blogger expressed his shock and disappointment with the British police's response to the theft. He stated that when he reported the crime, the police did not visit the scene and only provided a crime number. Alekari contrasted this with his perception of policing in India, saying, "India is the safest place to travel. We never even lock our wheels in India, and that's the success of our police... I miss Mumbai Police". He felt that the UK police were failing to control theft and ensure the safety and security of tourists.

Alekari is now in London, seeking emergency travel documents from the Indian High Commission and facing the possibility of having to cut his world tour short. He estimates the value of the stolen items to be over £15,000. The incident has garnered attention on social media, with Alekari sharing videos of the theft and urging his followers to spread the word in the hope that authorities will take action. His social media accounts show a large following, with over 180,000 followers on Instagram and 16,000 on Facebook.

The Nottinghamshire Police have stated that they are taking the theft seriously and conducting local inquiries, but have not yet located the motorcycle. Police Constable Andy Smith acknowledged the distress Alekari is experiencing, given the distance he has traveled. The police have also issued a public appeal for information to help recover the stolen bike.

Alekari's experience has highlighted the issue of vehicle theft in the UK, particularly motorcycle theft, which has been a growing concern. It has also sparked discussions among Indian automotive communities and bikers, with many offering support and advice to Alekari. Some have suggested contacting the Indian High Commission for assistance with replacing his documents. The incident has served as a reminder of the risks travelers face and the importance of vigilance and security.
