A dramatic turn of events unfolded in Kannauj as Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Kaish Khan was arrested from his residence on Tuesday, September 2. The arrest followed a nearly month-long evasion of an official district banishment order issued against him on July 28, which mandated that he remain outside the limits of Kannauj.

The circumstances surrounding Khan's apprehension have captured public attention, particularly due to a video that went viral showing him hiding in the loft of his house, wrapped in a mattress. According to reports, the Kotwali police acted on a tip-off that led them to Khan's residence where they discovered him concealed in this manner.

Kaish Khan, a former treasurer of the Samajwadi Party and reportedly close to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, was found in violation of the banishment order. Reports indicate that police raided the home of Khan's cousin and found Khan hiding beneath a mattress. The police took him into custody and presented him in court.
