Rajasthan Tragedy: 5-Year-Old Dies in Accidental Shooting, Father Faces Charges, Police Investigate.

In Kotputli, Rajasthan, a tragic incident occurred where a five-year-old boy, Devanshu, lost his life after accidentally shooting himself with his father's gun. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon while the boy was playing inside his home.

According to police reports, Devanshu, who was five years and four months old, found the gun in a cupboard. While handling the weapon, the trigger was accidentally pressed, resulting in a bullet striking him on the forehead. The sound of the gunshot alerted family members who rushed to the room and found the child bleeding.

Devanshu was immediately taken to BDM Hospital in Kotputli and then transferred to NIMS Hospital in Chandwaji, where doctors pronounced him dead. Police have sealed the room as part of their investigation to determine whether the weapon was licensed or illegal. Evidence was collected from the scene by FSL and MOB teams.

Sohan Lal, the Station House Officer of Viratnagar, stated that they are examining the legality of the weapon. As of now, the family has not provided any statements. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shipra Rajawat and additional police personnel have visited the site to oversee the investigation. The boy's body has been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem.
