Teja Sajja's fantasy adventure film, Mirai, continues its impressive run at the box office, nearing the ₹60 crore mark in India after just five days. Early estimates suggest the film has earned around ₹5.75 crore on its fifth day across all languages.
The movie, directed by Karthik Gattamneni and produced by People Media Factory, features Teja Sajja, Ritika Nayak, Manoj Manchu, Jagapathi Babu, Shriya Saran, and Jayaram in pivotal roles. Mirai tells the story of a battle between good and evil for sacred scriptures.
While weekday collections experienced a dip, the Telugu version maintained decent theatre occupancy, especially during the night shows. Overall Telugu occupancy on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, was 27.79%. The Hindi version, presented by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions in North India, saw a considerable spike of 64 percent on Tuesday.
Mirai had a strong opening weekend, collecting ₹13 crore on its first day, followed by ₹15 crore on Saturday and ₹16.6 crore on Sunday. However, as expected, the numbers decreased once the weekend concluded, with the film earning ₹6.4 crore on Monday. According to Sacnilk, the movie has earned over ₹56.75 crore at the box office after Tuesday's collections. Other reports suggest the film has collected ₹55 crore net in India in five days.
The film has performed better in Telugu, followed by Hindi, compared to other South Indian languages. After four days, the overall box office collection of Mirai in the Hindi version was ₹9.86 crores. Including taxes, the gross earnings amount to ₹11.63 crores.
Worldwide, Mirai has grossed ₹91.45 crore in four days. The producers announced that the film made ₹81.2 crore during its first weekend.
Despite the film's success, Mirai's trajectory is slower than Teja Sajja's previous blockbuster, Hanu Man. Hanu Man earned over ₹67 crore in its first five days, while Mirai collected ₹56.75 crore.
Made on a budget of ₹50 crore, Mirai has already broken even for its Telugu distributors. The film’s theatrical rights for the Telugu version were reportedly sold for ₹24.5 crore. It remains to be seen whether Mirai can achieve superhit status and generate higher profit margins.
