Zee Studios' Triumphant Run at the 71st National Film Awards: Celebrating Victories for Rani Mukerji, Vikrant Massey and More.

The 71st National Film Awards ceremony, held on September 23, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, was a resounding success for Zee Studios, with the studio bagging a total of eight awards. This achievement underscores Zee Studios' commitment to producing and distributing quality cinema across diverse languages and genres. The awards recognized films certified between January 1 and December 31, 2023. President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to the winners.

Zee Studios secured six awards for films it produced, including:

  • Best Actress (Lead Role): Rani Mukerji for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. This marks Mukerji's first National Award after nearly 30 years in the film industry. She portrayed the character of Debika Chatterjee, an Indian woman in Norway fighting to regain custody of her children. Mukerji received ₹2 lakh cash prize, a Silver Lotus medallion, and a certificate.
  • Best Children's Film: Naal 2, a Marathi film.
  • Best Child Artist: Treesha Thosar, Shrinivas Pokale, and Bhargav Jagtap for their performances in Naal 2.
  • Best Dialogue: Deepak Kingrani for Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.
  • Best Debut Film of a Director: Aatmapamphlet by Ashish Avinash Bende.
  • Best Punjabi Feature Film: Godday Godday Chaa.

In addition to the awards for films produced by Zee Studios, 12th Fail, a film distributed by the studio, won two major awards:

  • Best Feature Film: Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail.
  • Best Actor (Lead Role): Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail. Massey shared the Best Actor award with Shah Rukh Khan. Massey and Khan each received ₹1 lakh cash prize, a Silver Lotus medallion, and a certificate.

The 71st National Film Awards also recognized other notable films and artists: Shah Rukh Khan won Best Actor for Jawan. Mohanlal received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The Kerala Story won Best Director for Sudipto Sen. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani won Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
