RSS Centenary: PM Highlights Anti-Caste Efforts and Concerns Regarding Illegal Immigration Challenges.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on its centenary anniversary, emphasizing its significant contributions to nation-building. Addressing the centenary celebrations in New Delhi, Modi highlighted the RSS's role in awakening self-awareness and pride among various sections of society. He recalled the organization's work in remote areas, particularly among tribal communities, and its prioritization of social harmony. The Prime Minister also released a commemorative postage stamp and coin to mark the RSS's contributions to the nation.

Modi acknowledged the RSS's efforts during the Partition, when volunteers assisted displaced families with limited resources. He stressed that this was not merely relief work but an act of strengthening the nation's soul. He emphasized the RSS's consistent work in remote regions, particularly among India's tribal population, and noted that the Sangh prioritized their culture, festivals, languages, and traditions.

The Prime Minister also addressed challenges facing the nation, including separatist ideologies, regionalism, caste and language disputes, and divisive tendencies incited by external forces. He warned against breaking the principle of "unity in diversity," which he described as India's soul. Modi called upon society to adopt the mantra of "swadeshi" and dedicate efforts to making the "Vocal for Local" campaign successful.

Furthermore, Modi defended the RSS against claims of being a "Brahmanical outfit" and highlighted its historical involvement in the freedom struggle and post-independence movements. He lauded the RSS's continuous fight against caste discrimination and untouchability, referencing calls from its leaders for shared public spaces and social equality.

In addition to social issues, Modi reiterated his warning about illegal immigration, emphasizing that it poses a significant threat to India's demography and internal security.

Union Minister for Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat stated that the RSS ignited the spirit of nation-building and cultural awareness. RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale noted the organization's widespread activities and the active engagement of its volunteers in social development, national service, security, and welfare.

Founded in 1925 by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS was established as a volunteer organization promoting cultural awareness, discipline, service, and social responsibility. The organization's core emphasis is on patriotism and national character formation, instilling devotion to the motherland, self-restraint, courage, and heroism. The RSS aims for the "Sarvangeena Unnati" (all-round development) of India. Over the past century, the RSS has been involved in education, health, social welfare, and disaster relief efforts.
