Ragini Das: From Leap.club Co-founder to Google's Head of Startups in India - A Profile

Ragini Das, co-founder of Leap.club, has been appointed as the Head of Google for Startups, India. This marks a significant step in her career, bringing her extensive experience in entrepreneurship, growth marketing, and leadership to Google's initiatives supporting the Indian startup ecosystem.

Das announced her new role on LinkedIn, describing it as a "full-circle" moment. She reflected on her journey, recalling her first interview at Google in 2013 and how she eventually found her path through Zomato and then Leap.club.

"Life has come full circle, and I'm excited to share that I've joined Google as Head of Google for Startups – India," Das wrote.

In her new role, Das will lead Google's efforts to empower India's startup ecosystem by connecting founders with the appropriate resources, networks, and mentors to help them scale. She will focus on assisting early-stage founders in building and scaling their ventures by connecting them with the right people, products, and best practices.

"We're on a mission to support thriving startups around the world by connecting them to the right people, products and best practices to help them grow," she stated.

Before joining Google, Das co-founded Leap.club in January 2020, a professional network for women focused on career advancement through community, mentorship, and growth opportunities. The platform grew to over 25,000 members and $3 million in revenue. Das has stated that Leap.club became a defining chapter in her life, giving her purpose and an identity, and she is proud to have impacted the lives of thousands of women through it. Leap.club paused operations in June 2025.

Prior to Leap.club, Das spent over six years at Zomato, where she held various roles, including leading international expansion for Zomato Gold across 10 international markets. She started at Zomato in April 2014 as a Sales and Marketing Manager in Hyderabad, later becoming a Key Accounts Manager in Bengaluru, and eventually serving as Area Sales Manager and Global Growth Lead for Zomato Gold in Gurugram. Das credits Zomato for helping her identify her career path, providing her with invaluable learning experiences, and giving her the resilience to co-found Leap.club.

Das's career began at Aludecor, and she has also worked at Standard Chartered Bank and Trident Group India, handling key account management for global clients and working across domestic and international marketing functions. She holds a business degree and considers herself a plant and dog mom who enjoys South Indian cuisine, flavored gin, and swimming in the ocean.

Das brings over 13 years of experience in leadership, growth, and entrepreneurship to her new role at Google. Her appointment reflects Google's continued commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the growth of the startup ecosystem in India.
