After nearly three decades, the celebrated on-screen pair, Nagarjuna and Tabu, are reportedly reuniting for Nagarjuna's milestone 100th film, tentatively titled #King100. Their iconic chemistry in films like "Ninne Pelladutha" (1996), "Sinsindri", and "Aavida Maa Aavide" continues to resonate with fans.
While an official announcement is still awaited, sources indicate that Tabu has signed on for a significant role in the film, which has already commenced shooting. However, unlike their previous collaborations, Tabu will not be playing Nagarjuna's romantic interest in this project. Instead, she will portray a crucial character pivotal to the film's narrative.
Nagarjuna has often expressed his admiration for Tabu, with whom he and his family share a close bond. Their on-screen collaborations have made them one of the most loved pairs in Tollywood.
Directed by Tamil filmmaker R. Karthik, who previously directed "Nitham Oru Vaanam" and "Aakasham", #King100 is being produced by Nagarjuna's Annapurna Studios. The film will also feature two other leading ladies, making it one of the most anticipated Telugu films in production. Devi Sri Prasad is rumored to be the music composer for the film. Some reports suggest the film may be titled "Lottery King". The film is expected to be released in mid of next year.
This project marks Tabu's return to Telugu cinema after a long absence. Apart from "King 100", Tabu is also part of Puri Jagannadh's upcoming bilingual film "Slumdog", starring Vijay Sethupathi and Samyukta Menon. Tabu's decision to take on strong, author-backed roles hints that she is ready to embrace challenging characters that suit her age and persona.
