Tejashwi Yadav Promises Government Job for Each Household if Elected: A Major Election Assurance.

Patna, India – Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has pledged to provide a government job for every household in Bihar if his party is voted to power in the upcoming state elections. This ambitious promise was announced at a press conference in Patna on Thursday, just a day before the notification for the first phase of the election was issued.

Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the outgoing Assembly, stated that his government would enact a new law within 20 days of assuming power to ensure that every family in Bihar has at least one member employed by the government. Furthermore, he guaranteed that this initiative would be fully implemented within 20 months of the new government taking charge, ensuring that no household in Bihar is without a government job.

"We will ensure that every household will have a person with a government job after our government comes to power," Yadav asserted. "We will make a new Act for it within 20 days of forming the government, and in 20 months, not a single house will be without a government job".

Yadav emphasized that this promise is not mere "jumlebaazi" (making fake promises) and that the RJD has conducted thorough surveys to gather data on families without government employment. He stated that these studies have been done scientifically, and the party possesses data on all such families based on their survey.

This is not the first time Yadav has focused on job creation as a key campaign promise. During the 2020 Assembly polls, his promise of providing 10 lakh jobs helped the RJD emerge as the single-largest party. He also pointed out that during his tenure as Deputy Chief Minister from August 2022 to January 2024, he facilitated 5 lakh jobs in various government departments.

"I had promised government jobs in the last assembly polls as well. During the brief period I was in power, five lakh jobs were provided. You can imagine what could be possible had I gotten a five-year term," Yadav said.

The RJD leader is attempting to replicate the narrative that propelled his party to prominence in the 2020 elections. In that election, the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan secured 110 seats, narrowly missing the majority mark required to form the government.

Yadav's announcement comes at a crucial time, with the Bihar Assembly elections on the horizon. The two-phase election is scheduled for November 6 and November 11, and the counting of votes will take place on November 14. The current term of the 243-member Assembly is set to end on November 22.
