Kichcha Sudeep has refuted claims that he will be playing the antagonist in Silambarasan's upcoming film, "Arasan". The actor addressed the rumors directly, dismissing them and advising the source to verify their information.
"Arasan," previously known as STR 49, is an upcoming collaboration between Silambarasan TR and director Vetrimaaran. The film's official title was recently announced by producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu. V Creations is backing the film. The first look features Silambarasan with a machete in hand, his shirt blood-soaked, standing next to a bicycle. The film is currently in production.
Vetrimaaran has stated that "Arasan" will exist within the "Vada Chennai" universe. The director initially conceived the script for Silambarasan before adapting it for "Vada Chennai" with Dhanush. While some characters from "Vada Chennai" may appear, Dhanush's character, Anbu, will not be part of "Arasan". It is speculated that Andrea Jeremiah may reprise her role as Chandra, alongside Samuthirakani and Kishore. Manikandan and Nelson Dilipkumar are also expected to appear.
Other reports suggest that Samantha Ruth Prabhu is in talks to star alongside Silambarasan in "Arasan". Anirudh Ravichander is also rumored to be composing the music for the film.
Details regarding the plot, the full cast and crew, and the release date are yet to be revealed.
