Director Atlee, fresh off the heels of his success with "Jawan," has provided an exciting update on his upcoming film, tentatively titled 'AA22 x A6', starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone. Speaking recently, Atlee shared his vision for the project, emphasizing his desire to create a film that is "very new, very intriguing, [and] addictive to watch".
Atlee, during an interview at the Bengaluru Open 2025 event, conveyed his enthusiasm for the project and the progress being made. "The shooting is going well as planned, god is so kind," he said, highlighting the meticulous approach being taken in crafting this pan-Indian sci-fi thriller. He noted the unique challenges presented by the film's genre, stating, "There is no bible for this kind of film. We have to incorporate a lot of bibles and work on pipelines on how to make this film. We are discovering everything, and we are trying to pull something bigger for the audience, to give them a new taste, a new visualization".
The director also teased Allu Arjun's transformation for the film, urging fans to "please wait for a few months" to witness something truly unique. "One thing I can assure [is] we are going to make something which we have not seen before," Atlee affirmed.
Adding to the film's ambitious scope, Atlee revealed the involvement of Hollywood technicians, noting that they, too, find the project "very challenging". According to Atlee, the Hollywood technicians find the film challenging, which means they are creating something big. This collaboration suggests a high level of technical innovation and visual spectacle.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, reports suggest that "AA22 x A6" will be a futuristic action drama potentially exploring time travel. Sources indicate that Allu Arjun may be seen in multiple roles, possibly portraying characters from the same family lineage. Deepika Padukone's role is also said to be crucial to the narrative, dispelling rumors of a mere cameo appearance. Insiders have stressed that her character is central to the story, driving the narrative forward across two parallel timelines, blending mythology and contemporary elements.
In addition to Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, there is speculation that other prominent actors, including Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur, and Janhvi Kapoor, may join the cast, although official confirmations are still pending.
