In the wake of the deadly car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort Metro station on November 10, 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed investigative agencies to pursue those responsible with unwavering resolve. Shah has vowed to unleash the "full wrath" of the state on the plotters behind the attack.

The explosion, which occurred in a Hyundai i20 car near the Subhash Marg traffic signal, resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries to pedestrians, as well as damage to nearby vehicles. Preliminary reports confirmed fatalities, prompting swift action from law enforcement and security agencies.

Immediately following the incident, Shah spoke with the Director of the Intelligence Bureau and the Delhi Police Commissioner to assess the situation. He then directed a coordinated multi-agency investigation involving the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and Delhi Police. Authorities have been instructed to conduct a thorough probe into the cause and nature of the explosion and submit a detailed report as soon as possible.

Shah assured the public that security teams responded quickly to the blast. Teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Delhi Special Branch arrived at the scene within 10 minutes of the explosion. The Home Minister has stated that all possibilities are being explored. He also emphasized his commitment to staying in contact with investigative agencies and ensuring a thorough pursuit of the perpetrators.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow and assured that those behind the attack would be held accountable. Modi, while in Bhutan, conveyed his condolences to the affected families, affirming the nation's solidarity with them. He has called the incident a conspiracy and vowed action against those responsible.

Amid the ongoing investigation, the government has addressed misinformation circulating on social media. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) refuted claims that a CNG leak caused the explosion. The PIB has also dismissed outdated images related to the Delhi blast that are part of a misinformation campaign.

Following the blast in Delhi, security has been heightened across Srinagar. The United Kingdom has issued a travel advisory against all travel to parts of India, specifically areas within 10 kilometers of the India-Pakistan border. The Red Fort has been shut for three days, from November 11 to November 13.
