New Delhi, November 17, 2025 – Azimuth AI and Cyient Semiconductors today launched ARKA GKT-1, India's first-generation intelligent-power platform-on-a-chip, designed for high-efficiency edge AI and smart energy applications. The chip was unveiled by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Electronics & IT, marking a significant step in India's journey toward self-reliance and global leadership in semiconductor design and deep-tech innovation.
Developed through a collaboration between Azimuth AI and Cyient Semiconductors, ARKA GKT-1 integrates multi-core custom computing, advanced analog sensing, memory, and intelligent power management into a single, energy-efficient System on Chip (SoC). It is built on Azimuth AI's Software-Defined Silicon architecture, combined with Cyient Semiconductors' expertise in mixed-signal, power, and low-energy ASIC design, delivering a flexible silicon foundation for both domestic and global markets.
ARKA GKT-1 is designed for a variety of applications, including smart utilities, advanced metering, battery management, smart cities, and industrial automation. It brings real-time intelligence to the edge while maintaining low power consumption. The chip integrates computing, sensing, and power management capabilities.
Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon'ble Union Minister for Electronics & IT, stated that ARKA GKT-1 showcases India's capability to design and develop world-class semiconductor technologies for critical global industries. He added that this milestone reflects the nation's progress toward self-reliance, advanced manufacturing, and leadership in next-generation chip innovation.
Krishna Bodanapu, Executive Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of Cyient Semiconductors, said that ARKA GKT-1 represents a leap in India's semiconductor journey. He emphasized that Cyient Semiconductors' silicon engineering strength, combined with Azimuth AI's architecture, has produced a globally competitive, energy-efficient chip. According to Cyient, this collaboration supports India's semiconductor mission. The program demonstrates a "true custom ASIC turnkey solution," covering design, fabrication, OSAT management, and final chip delivery.
