Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor has voiced his support for the Indian Armed Forces following "Operation Sindoor," a retaliatory strike against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation, launched on May 7, 2025, was a response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, which resulted in the death of 26 tourists.

Kapoor took to his Instagram stories to express his sentiments, emphasizing national unity and resilience. He wrote, "What needed to be done-was done. Which family does not have differences within their members, but when it comes to the nation, we stand as one. Always have, always will". He further conveyed his gratitude to the armed forces, stating, "Grateful to our armed forces for standing tall and striking back with valor. India doesn't forget. India doesn't forgive. Jai Hind....Jai Hind ki Sena!".

However, Kapoor's expression of support came a week after the operation, leading to some criticism and trolling on social media. Some users questioned the timing of his statement, deeming it "late," while others scrutinized his past associations.

"Operation Sindoor" involved precision strikes on nine terror-linked locations, carried out by the Indian Air Force from standoff distances exceeding 250 kilometers, avoiding Pakistani airspace. The operation resulted in the destruction of terror infrastructure, with reports indicating over 100 terrorists killed, including those involved in the IC 814 hijacking and the Pulwama blasts. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserted that the operation conveyed a message that terrorist bases are not safe on either side of the border and symbolized India's political, social, and strategic willpower.

The operation also highlighted India's growing self-reliance in defense, with the deployment of indigenous weapons like BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles and Akash air defense systems. These systems effectively countered Pakistani aerial attacks, bolstering India's defense capabilities.

Despite a "pause" in fighting, the Indian armed forces remain on alert, with ongoing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance activities. The operation also underscores the critical role of the Indian Navy in potential punitive strikes.

Anil Kapoor's expression of support aligns with a broader wave of solidarity from Indian celebrities towards the armed forces following "Operation Sindoor". However, the timing of his statement has subjected him to scrutiny and debate on social media platforms.
