The trailer for the highly anticipated film Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu, has been released, setting the stage for a theatrical release on September 5, 2025. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and presented by UV Creations, Ghaati is a Telugu-language action crime drama. The film is also set to release in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

The trailer offers a glimpse into a rugged world of survival and rebellion. Ghaati is set against the backdrop of rural Andhra Pradesh and tells the story of a tribal community that becomes unwilling accomplices in a drug mafia nexus. The narrative is described as brutal, grounded, and emotionally charged. Anushka Shetty's character is a bus conductor hoping for a simple life with her partner, Raju, played by Vikram Prabhu. However, they and their community soon realize the dangerous situation they are trapped in.

Anushka Shetty portrays a character who transforms from a victim to a criminal and ultimately a legend. Her performance is described as intense and fearless. The trailer showcases her character's violent resistance against the mafia, with her vengeance compared to the mythological figure of Sita. Vikram Prabhu plays a fierce and rugged role as her devoted partner. The trailer also introduces the world of the "Ghaatis," a community historically forced to build roads in treacherous Ghats during the British Raj, now coerced into working as drug mules.

The film also stars Ramya Krishna, Jagapathi Babu, Chaitanya Rao Madadi, and Ravindra Vijay. Krish Jagarlamudi has written the script and shares additional screenplay credits with D S Kannan and Ramana Salwa. Chintakindi Srinivas Rao penned the story, while Sai Madhav Burra wrote the dialogues. The film is produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi under First Frame Entertainment. Nagavelli Vidya Sagar is the music director.

Manojh Reddy Katasani's cinematography captures the beauty and danger of the Ghats, while Nagavelli Vidya Sagar's score heightens the emotional stakes. Editing is co-helmed by Venkata Swamy Nakka and Chanakya Reddy Toorupu. Action choreography is by Ram Krishnan.

Ghaati is anticipated to be a major theatrical release and will clash with Sivakarthikeyan's Madharaasi and Teja Sajja's Mirai at the box office. Anushka Shetty was last seen in the rom-com Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, released in September 2023. The film has been postponed twice before finally settling on the September 5, 2025, release date.
