Ashley Tisdale recently shared insights into her motherhood journey and her connection to the animated series "Phineas and Ferb," where she voices the character Candace Flynn. During an interview with People at the Bush's Bluey Baked Beans launch event at CAMP in New York City on May 14, 2025, the actress discussed why her 4-year-old daughter, Jupiter, hasn't yet watched the show.
Tisdale explained that while Jupiter recognizes the characters, she feels the show's tone might be better suited for older children. "I haven't [watched the show with Jupiter]. I mean, she's seen [the characters] Phineas and Ferb," Tisdale said. "It might be a little bit more for older age range," she added. Although Jupiter hasn't viewed full episodes, she's had a glimpse into her mother's animated world, having accompanied Tisdale to a recording session last year, a moment the actress shared with her followers on Instagram.
Tisdale also expressed her excitement about the upcoming "Phineas and Ferb" reboot, noting that her character has "finally aged a little bit". The new season is set to premiere on June 5 on Disney Channel and Disney XD, and will be available for streaming on Disney+ the following day. "The new episodes are amazing, and I'm so excited because my character finally has aged a little bit," Tisdale stated. She also mentioned, "My character is now 16 years old and I am really curious to see how the fans will react".
Tisdale also spoke about the challenges of being a mom to a picky eater, expressing her hopes that the collaboration with Bluey on the Bush's Baked Beans cans will encourage Jupiter to eat her beans. "It's really hard when you have a picky eater," she said. "When they like something, you tend to stick with it, and so she's always been a humongous beans fan, and if Bluey's on it, she has to have it, so it's helpful".
In related news, Tisdale revealed at New York Comic Con in October 2024 that she had to adjust her voice recording for "Phineas and Ferb" during her pregnancy with her younger daughter, Emerson. Known for Candace's signature high-pitched screams, Tisdale shared that she intentionally "dialed it back" to avoid startling her unborn child.
