Union Home Minister Amit Shah has declared that Indian forces undertook a historic operation, crossing 100 kilometers into Pakistan to dismantle terror camps. Speaking at a gathering in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Shah asserted that this action, executed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, sends a clear message that attacks on India will not be tolerated.
Shah stated that the operation, dubbed "Operation Sindoor," was a response to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack where civilians, including tourists, were targeted based on their religion. He described the attack as a cowardly and inhuman act, where Pakistani terrorists demanded victims identify themselves by religion before shooting them.
According to Shah, Indian forces successfully destroyed the headquarters of Pakistan-backed groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, along with nine other training camps used to prepare terrorists for infiltration into India. He emphasized that arms depots, hideouts, and training camps were reduced to ashes, effectively crippling the terrorist network. He highlighted that these camps were located in areas including Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur and Muridke.
Shah lauded the Indian armed forces, comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force, for their precise execution of Operation Sindoor, delivering a strong response to those who threatened India with nuclear weapons. He noted that the world now watches India with awe, while Pakistan observes with fear.
He also mentioned that Pakistan retaliated with drone and missile attacks on Indian military and civilian infrastructure along the western border, from Kutch to Kashmir. However, he asserted that India's air defense system, strengthened under Prime Minister Modi, successfully intercepted these threats, preventing any impact on Indian soil.
In response to Pakistan's attacks, India struck back on May 9, targeting 15 locations, including the Noor Khan airbase, Sargodha, Sukkur airbase, and Malir Cantonment in Karachi. Shah clarified that only military targets were engaged, with no harm inflicted on civilians, sending a clear message that any harm to Indians would be met with an even stronger response.
Shah contrasted the present decisive action with the past, recalling a time before 2014 when terror attacks were often met with silence or restraint. He emphasized that since Prime Minister Modi assumed office, every act of terror has been met with a firm, strategic response, earning India global recognition. He also credited PM Modi for coining the term 'Operation Sindoor' to honor the women of the country.
The Home Minister also stated that security experts across the world are stunned by Indian military capabilities. He stated that the operation demonstrated that Indian missiles are unstoppable.
