A newly released video showcasing Operation Sindoor reveals the Indian Army's successful efforts in neutralizing Pakistani drone incursions following heightened tensions between the two nations. The operation, launched on May 7th in response to a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, highlights India's robust air defense capabilities and its commitment to protecting its skies.

The video, shared by the Army's Western Command on social media, offers a glimpse into the precision airstrikes and the recovery of downed Pakistani drones. It emphasizes the vigilance and preparedness of the Indian armed forces in thwarting enemy attacks. The video underscores the Army's dedication to national security.

Tensions escalated after the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people. India responded with Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror-linked sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). In retaliation, Pakistan initiated shelling across the Line of Control and attempted drone strikes along the border. India broadened its strikes to include 11 airbases, targeting radar systems, communication centers, and airfields.

According to reports, the Indian Army's air defense units successfully neutralized over 600 Pakistani drones and repelled the rest. A multi-layered air defense network, integrating legacy weapons with indigenous systems like Akash and Akashteer, played a crucial role in thwarting Pakistan's attempts to overwhelm India's air defense grid. This operation demonstrated India's enhanced AD preparedness.

The Indian Army also showcased its air defense capabilities in Amritsar, highlighting how systems like the AKASH missile and L-70 Air Defence Guns successfully protected the Golden Temple and key cities in Punjab from Pakistani missile and drone threats. Major General Kartik C Seshadri, GOC, 15 Infantry Division, emphasized the nation's swift military response following the Pahalgam terror attack. He stated that the Indian army had anticipated Pakistan's move to target its military installations along with civilian establishments, including religious places such as the Golden Temple, which was the prime target according to intelligence.

The successful interception of Pakistani drones and missiles not only safeguarded vital military and civilian infrastructure but also demonstrated the effectiveness of India's air defense systems. The operation highlighted that Indian boots on the ground, backed by indigenous technology and rigorous training, can defend the skies with unmatched precision. The swift deployment of air defense units along the western front ensured that the multi-layered air defense network transformed from a peacetime posture to full operational readiness.

While Pakistan claimed to have shot down several Indian drones, India has presented evidence of its successful retaliation, displaying the destruction of Pakistan's terror infrastructure. The video serves as a testament to India's strength and determination in protecting its borders and maintaining regional stability.

Operation Sindoor and the successful downing of Pakistani drones have been viewed as a significant achievement for the Indian Army, demonstrating its readiness to respond to any threats and its commitment to safeguarding the nation's interests.
