The video, reportedly recorded on April 12 by CCTV cameras installed at the BJP district office, allegedly depicts Kashyap making "inappropriate advances" towards a woman on the office staircase. The woman in the video is believed to be a BJP worker.

Govind Narayan Shukla, the BJP's state general secretary, issued a show-cause notice to Kashyap, stating that the conduct depicted in the video negatively impacts the party's reputation and constitutes indiscipline. The notice requires Kashyap to provide a written response within seven days, failing which he could face disciplinary action.
