Amidst a vibrant roadshow in Vadodara, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a heartwarming gesture from the family of Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, an officer in the Indian Army. As the Prime Minister's cavalcade made its way through the city, Colonel Qureshi's family members showered him with flower petals, showcasing their support and admiration.
PM Modi is currently on a two-day visit to Gujarat, marking his first official visit after "Operation Sindoor." The Prime Minister is inaugurating and laying foundation stones for various developmental projects across the state during this visit. A large crowd gathered to welcome him in Vadodara, waving Indian flags and showering flower petals. Many attendees, including international students, expressed their excitement about seeing the Prime Minister in person.
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi's family's gesture stood out among the many displays of affection. Colonel Qureshi has garnered national attention for her service, particularly for briefing the nation on "Operation Sindoor". Her family's presence at the roadshow underscores their pride in her accomplishments and their support for the Prime Minister's leadership. Colonel Qureshi's parents, Taj Mohammad and Halima Qureshi, were present to welcome Modi as the roadshow commenced at Vadodara's Harni Airport.
Shayna Sunsara, Colonel Qureshi's twin sister, also attended the roadshow. She has publicly expressed her admiration for PM Modi's work towards women's empowerment. In previous statements, Sunsara has lauded the government's strong stance against terrorism, emphasizing the bravery and commitment of India's defense forces. She mentioned that the armed forces are dedicated to completing any mission given to them.
"Operation Sindoor," which Colonel Qureshi briefed the media on, is considered a significant operation. BJP state chief Sharma stated the operation was the Indian Army's response to Pakistani terrorists. Sharma further stated that Prime Minister Modi gave the armed forces a "free hand" to respond to the culprits of the attacks.
Colonel Qureshi's family has a history of service in the armed forces. Her father, Taj Mohammed Qureshi, noted that his father and grandfather also served in the army. Her mother, Halima Qureshi, expressed that they have avenged the honor of their sisters and mothers through Operation Sindoor.
In addition to the roadshow, the Prime Minister's itinerary includes dedicating a locomotive manufacturing plant to the nation and flagging off an Electric Locomotive in Dahod. He will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth approximately Rs 24,000 crore in Dahod. On May 27, PM Modi will participate in an event at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 5,536 crore. He will also participate in the celebrations of 20 years of the Gujarat Urban Growth Story and launch Urban Development Year 2025.
