The Mumbai rains have once again played spoilsport, this time disrupting the shooting schedule of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's highly anticipated film, "Love And War," starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. The film, which has already faced delays, was forced to halt its outdoor shoot due to the heavy downpour that brought the city to a standstill on May 26th.

Bhansali was all set to film a crucial dramatic sequence with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Film City, Goregaon, on Monday afternoon. However, the relentless rain, which caused waterlogging and unpredictable weather conditions, made it impossible to proceed. According to a source close to the production, the scene required specific lighting, and the director was unwilling to compromise on the visual quality or the safety of his crew, which consists of over 500 people. Train disruptions further complicated the situation, making it difficult for many crew members to reach the set.

This isn't the first time that the Mumbai rains have affected the production of "Love And War." Back in October 2024, the film's initial shooting schedule was pushed back by two months due to extensive damage to the set caused by heavy rainfall. The set construction faced multiple delays due to the monsoon, leading to significant setbacks.

Despite these challenges, Bhansali is reportedly using the delays to his advantage. Sources say he is utilizing the extra time to further refine the script and focus on the film's music. He is also planning additional workshops with the lead actors to help them prepare for their roles.

The film has generated considerable buzz due to its star-studded cast and Bhansali's signature grand style. "Love And War" marks the reunion of Bhansali and Ranbir Kapoor after their 2007 film "Saawariya." The film is described as a love triangle set against the backdrop of war. Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal will portray Indian Armed Forces officers.

The current break in shooting is expected to be brief, with the cast expected to resume later this week once the weather stabilizes. Ranbir and Vicky had already allocated this week to "Love And War," though Alia was not required for these particular scenes. The film is slated for release on Eid 2026.
