In a dazzling display of beauty, talent, and purpose, Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025 at the grand finale held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, India on May 31, 2025. The 72nd edition of the prestigious pageant saw 108 contestants from around the globe competing for the coveted title.
The event marked a historic moment for Thailand, as this is the first time a representative from the country has won the Miss World crown. Suchata, who was also named Miss World Thailand 2025, is a trilingual Political Science major at Thammasat University, born in Phuket and raised with a strong background in hospitality.
The grand finale was hosted by Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World 2016, and Indian television presenter Sachiin Kumbhar. The evening was filled with glamour and entertainment, including captivating performances by Bollywood stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter.
The selection process was rigorous, with the initial 108 contestants narrowed down to a Top 40, then a Top 12, and finally a Top 4. Contestants were evaluated on various factors, including their intelligence, advocacy, and social impact. Each continental group produced a winner after a rapid-fire round. The continental queens were Miss Martinique (Americas and Caribbean), Miss Ethiopia (Africa), Miss Poland (Europe) and Miss Thailand (Asia & Oceania).
The judging panel included prominent figures such as actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood, who was also honored with the Miss World Humanitarian Award, Sudha Reddy, the 2025 Global Ambassador for Beauty With a Purpose, and Dr. Caryna Turrell, Miss England 2014 and a public health physician from the University of Cambridge. The jury was presided over by Julia Morley, Chairwoman and CEO of the Miss World Organisation.
The final moments of the competition saw Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic, the reigning Miss World 2024, gracefully pass on the crown to Suchata. Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia was named the first runner-up, while Maja Klajda of Poland secured the second runner-up position. Aurlie Joachim from Martinique also made it to the Top 4.
India was represented by Nandini Gupta, who made it to the Top 20. She had secured her place in the Top 40 by winning the Miss World Top Model sub-event on May 24th.
The Miss World 2025 pageant kicked off with a grand ceremony in Hyderabad on May 10, 2025. The event provided Telangana with a platform to showcase its tourism and investment potential.
