Netflix has officially announced the release date for Season 2 of its popular romantic comedy series, Nobody Wants This. Fans can mark their calendars for Thursday, October 23, 2025, when the show will premiere globally on the streaming platform. The announcement was made on June 1, 2025, during Netflix's FYSEE LA Emmy Event, celebrating the first season.
Nobody Wants This quickly became a hit after its debut on September 26, 2024. Created by Erin Foster, the series is loosely based on her real-life experiences and follows the unlikely romance between Joanne, an outspoken agnostic podcaster, and Noah, an unconventional rabbi. Season 1 captivated audiences with its humor and heartfelt storytelling, spending six weeks in Netflix's Global English Top 10 TV list and reaching the Top 10 in 89 countries.
The first season ended on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eager to know the fate of Joanne and Noah's relationship. Joanne's hesitation about converting to Judaism created uncertainty about their future together. The new season promises to delve into this conflict, exploring Noah's choices as Joanne grapples with her decision. Adam Brody, who plays Noah, has shared his interpretation of the ending, suggesting that Noah is prioritizing Joanne, but the long-term implications of that decision remain to be seen.
The original cast, including Kristen Bell as Joanne, Adam Brody as Noah, Justine Lupe as Morgan, and Timothy Simons as Sasha, will return for the second season. Jackie Tohn will also reprise her role as Esther, Sasha's sister-in-law. Additionally, several new faces will join the cast, adding fresh dynamics to the storyline. Leighton Meester, Brody's real-life wife, will guest star as Abby, Joanne's middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer. Miles Fowler will play Lenny, Noah's Matzah Ballers teammate, who is set up with Joanne's sister, Morgan. Other newcomers include Alex Karpovsky and Arian Moayed in as-yet-undisclosed roles.
Erin Foster returns as executive producer, joined by her sister Sara Foster. Nora Silver is a new addition to the team, with Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan serving as showrunners, replacing Foster and DiGregorio from the first season.
In anticipation of the new season, Netflix released a video featuring Bell, Brody, Lupe, Simons, and Tohn using a Magic 8 Ball to tease potential storylines. The queries hint at possible developments, including another iconic kiss, Morgan finding love, and drama between Esther, Sasha, and Morgan.
With its engaging characters, relatable themes, and the chemistry between its leads, Nobody Wants This has garnered a dedicated fan base. The series is produced by Steven Levitan Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment, and 20th Television.
