Ayodhya, June 5, 2025 - Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today attended the Pran Pratishtha rituals of the Ram Darbar at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. The ceremony, which began on June 3rd, culminated today with the consecration of the idols of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman, marking another significant milestone in the ongoing development of the Ram Mandir complex.
The event, organized by the Anjaneya Sewa Trust, commenced at 11 am with Vedic chanting and havans, conducted by 101 Vedic scholars. The rituals marked the reinstallation of Raja Ram. The Chief Minister participated in the ceremonial "uncovering of the eyes" of Lord Ram and Sita's idols.
Taking to social media platform X, Chief Minister Adityanath expressed his profound sentiments, calling the event a moment of great spiritual significance and a reflection of "Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat" (One India, Excellent India). He stated that he felt fortunate to witness the Pran Pratishtha program in Ayodhya Dham, the holy birthplace of Lord Shri Ram.
Security arrangements were elaborate, with a strong presence of CRPF, SSF, and PAC personnel throughout Ayodhya. Authorities had also initiated a verification process for tenants and residents of unauthorized settlements to ensure the safety and security of all attendees and residents.
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony not only consecrated the Ram Darbar but also included the installation of deities in eight temples within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex. This event signifies the completion of a major phase of construction of the Ram Mandir.
Adding to the auspiciousness of the occasion, the day also marks Chief Minister Adityanath's 53rd birthday. Saints and spiritual leaders lauded his leadership, noting that Ayodhya has re-emerged as a spiritual and cultural capital under his guidance.
In preparation for the event, approximately 62,000 boxes of prasad were dispatched from Lucknow to Ayodhya. While the temple remains open for darshan, access to the first-floor Ram Darbar is currently limited to ensure the site's sanctity. The second floor of the temple will feature a multilingual display of the Ramayana, including its oldest known version.
The Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla, the child form of Lord Rama, was previously held on January 22, 2024, in a ceremony inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Today's event established Lord Ram in his royal form, Raja Ram.
In addition to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, Ayodhya will also celebrate Saryu Jayanti Janmotsav, a week-long festival featuring devotional events, rituals, and spiritual discourses along the banks of the Saryu River.
The meticulous planning and execution of the event reflect the commitment of the Uttar Pradesh government and temple authorities to preserve the sanctity of Ayodhya and promote its spiritual significance on a global scale. The event is expected to draw thousands of devotees from across India and abroad, further cementing Ayodhya's place as a major pilgrimage destination.
