Khushbu Sundar recently expressed her gratitude to director Mani Ratnam following the release of his latest film, "Thug Life," which hit screens on Thursday, June 5, 2025. The reason for her heartfelt thanks lies in Ratnam's thoughtful gesture of including her daughter, Ananditha Sundar's name in the film's credits.

In an Instagram post, Khushbu shared her immense pride and delight in seeing her daughter's name acknowledged in such a prestigious project. Ananditha had the opportunity to work as an assistant director on "Thug Life" for a brief period. Unfortunately, her time on the film was cut short due to an ankle fracture.

Despite her abbreviated involvement, Mani Ratnam ensured that Ananditha's contribution was recognized. Khushbu, also a producer, emphasized the value of the experience her daughter gained. She noted that the knowledge and lessons Ananditha learned from Mani Ratnam would be invaluable and long-lasting.

Ananditha responded to her mother's post with a playful comment about her clumsiness.

"Thug Life" marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after 36 years since their cult classic "Nayakan." The film is a gangster action drama featuring a star-studded cast, including Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, and Abhirami. A.R. Rahman composed the music, adding to the film's intense atmosphere.

The film has received mixed reviews, with some criticism directed at the storyline and screenplay.
