Kushal Tanwar, also known as Gullu, the winner of MTV Roadies XX: Double Cross, received a hero's welcome in Gurgaon, his hometown, after his victory. The grand finale, which aired on June 1, 2025, saw Gullu from Elvish Yadav's gang, emerge victorious after a season of intense competition, dramatic twists, and turns. His journey culminated in winning the coveted trophy, a brand new Hero Karizma bike, and a check of Rs. 10 lakh.

Gullu's win has been described as a "full-circle moment" and a "satisfying victory for every underdog". Reflecting on his journey, Gullu shared a personal message, highlighting the challenges he faced without support or guidance. He described his win as a "silent scream finally heard," emphasizing that it was more than just a title. Elvish Yadav, Gullu's gang leader, also expressed his excitement and gratitude, acknowledging Gullu's hard work and dedication throughout the season. He shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, expressing how overwhelmed he was and how grateful he was to share the win with Gullu.

The 20th season of Roadies, hosted by Rannvijay Singh, premiered on January 11, 2025, and concluded after five months. Besides Elvish Yadav, the show featured Neha Dhupia, Gautam Gulati, Rhea Chakraborty, and Prince Narula as gang leaders. Hartaaj Singh Gill from Gang Prince Narula emerged as the first runner-up.

However, Gullu's victory has not been without controversy. Hartaaj Gill has alleged that the final task was unfairly designed to favor Gullu. In an interview with TOI TV, Hartaaj claimed that a puzzle element was removed from the task at the last moment because the makers knew Gullu would not be quick at solving it. He further added that Gullu was allowed to watch his performance, while he did not get the same advantage. Hartaaj expressed his disappointment, stating that the show wanted Gullu to win and that the task was planned accordingly. Despite these criticisms, Hartaaj clarified that the show is not scripted. He defended the authenticity of Roadies XX despite his reservations about the finale.

Prior to his Roadies success, Gullu, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (IHMCT) in Pune, had explored various business ventures, including co-founding a cafe in his hometown. His journey to winning Roadies XX is a story of perseverance and transformation. He had auditioned for Roadies back in 2019 but was rejected. From that point, he transformed himself and finally won Roadies XX in 2025.
