A shocking incident has come to light in Bengaluru, where a 33-year-old woman, identified as Harini, was allegedly stabbed to death by her 25-year-old lover, Yashas, in a hotel room. The gruesome discovery was made two days after the incident, which reportedly occurred late Friday night. Yashas, a techie, has been arrested in connection with the crime.
According to reports, both Harini and Yashas were residents of Kengeri, a suburb of Bengaluru. The murder took place in an OYO hotel room situated in Poorna Prajna Layout. Police investigations reveal that Harini was stabbed multiple times with a knife. A case has been registered at the Subramanyapura Police Station, and investigations are currently underway.
Initial reports suggest that the couple had known each other for approximately a month. The motive behind the murder appears to be Harini's desire to end the relationship. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Lokesh B Jagalasar, stated that Harini was trying to distance herself from Yashas, which fueled his anger and jealousy, leading to the fatal attack. Some reports indicate that Yashas stabbed Harini as many as 17 times.
Further investigation revealed that the duo had been introduced through a common friend three years ago and had been meeting regularly for the past few months. However, Harini's husband learned about the affair, prompting her to end the relationship. Yashas, reportedly frustrated by this, convinced Harini to meet him one last time, which led to the tragic events at the hotel.
Police believe the murder was premeditated, as Yashas allegedly carried a knife with him to the hotel room. After the crime, he reportedly stabbed himself and was admitted to a private hospital. Authorities apprehended him based on the medico-legal case reported by the hospital.
In a separate incident, also in Bengaluru, a 28-year-old man named Shankar allegedly beheaded his 26-year-old wife, Manasa, and surrendered to the Suryanagar police station with her severed head. This gruesome act was reportedly triggered by a heated argument over Manasa's alleged extramarital affair. Shankar claimed he found Manasa with another man after returning home unexpectedly from work. This incident occurred in Anekal, highlighting a disturbing trend of violent crimes in the region.
