The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET UG 2025 results, revealing a significant performance by students belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. Over 5 lakh candidates have qualified in the NEET UG 2025 exam. The results, available on the official website neet.nta.nic.in, also include the final answer key, merit list, and category-wise performance data.
This year, a total of 22,76,069 candidates registered for the NEET UG 2025, out of which 22,09,318 appeared for the examination. Of those who appeared, 12,36,531 candidates qualified. The examination, a single shift test, was conducted on May 4, 2025.
The NEET UG 2025 cut-off scores have seen a decrease across all categories compared to previous years. For the unreserved/EWS category, the cut-off range is 686-144, while for OBC, SC, and ST categories, it is 143-113. This drop is attributed to factors such as the exam's difficulty level, the number of candidates appearing, the availability of seats, and overall candidate performance.
The qualifying percentile for NEET UG 2025 remains consistent with previous years, with the General category set at 50th percentile and the SC/ST/OBC categories at 40th percentile.
Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of qualified candidates with 1,70,684, followed by Maharashtra with 1,25,727, and Rajasthan with 1,19,865. Delhi has emerged as a frontrunner in the top 10 rank list.
Mahesh Kumar from Rajasthan has topped NEET UG 2025 with a percentile of 99.9999547 and AIR 1. Utkarsh Awadhiya from Madhya Pradesh secured AIR 2 with a 99.9999095 percentile, and Krishang Joshi from Maharashtra bagged AIR 3 with a 99.9998189 percentile. Avika Aggarwal from Delhi is the female topper, securing AIR 5 with a 99.9996832 percentile.
The NEET UG 2025 results are presented as a digital scorecard, accessible on the official website. The scorecard includes subject-wise marks, total marks, percentile score, All India Rank (AIR), qualifying status, and category-wise cutoff.
Following the result announcement, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct All India Quota (AIQ) counselling for 15% of government MBBS and BDS seats. State authorities will manage counselling for the remaining 85% of seats.
While the NEET UG 2025 results indicate a potentially tougher examination, the significant number of qualified candidates, especially from the OBC category, highlights the increasing accessibility and broader representation in medical education.
