Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a significant three-nation tour, commencing on June 15, 2025, with the overarching aim of galvanizing global understanding on terrorism and fortifying India's strategic partnerships. The tour includes visits to Cyprus, Canada for the G7 Summit, and Croatia, each leg designed to deepen bilateral ties and address pressing global issues.

The Prime Minister's first stop is Cyprus, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the island nation in over two decades. This visit underscores the strong relationship between India and Cyprus, with Cyprus having consistently supported India's position on cross-border terrorism and reforms in the United Nations Security Council. Discussions with President Nikos Christodoulides are expected to cover a wide array of topics, including trade and investment, education, maritime cooperation, digital connectivity, and regional security. The focus is on reaffirming the shared commitment to deepen bilateral ties and enhance India's engagement with the Mediterranean region and the European Union.

Following Cyprus, PM Modi will travel to Kananaskis, Canada, to participate in the G7 Summit. This marks his sixth consecutive participation in the summit, where he will engage with leaders from G7 nations, invited outreach partners, and heads of key international organizations. Discussions will span critical global issues such as energy security, AI-driven innovation, and quantum technologies. Counter-terrorism efforts are also expected to be a key point of discussion, building upon recent dialogues between Indian and US officials on strengthening cooperation in this domain. The Prime Minister's presence at the G7 summit is a testament to India's growing global influence and its proactive stance on addressing international challenges.

The final leg of the tour will take PM Modi to Croatia, the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country. This visit is aimed at enhancing India's partnership with European Union nations and strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with Croatia. Talks with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and President Zoran Milanović are expected to focus on bilateral cooperation and Croatia's potential role in the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor.

A key focus throughout this three-nation tour is to strengthen the global resolve against terrorism. In a recent meeting with members of various delegations who represented India in different countries, PM Modi elaborated on India's commitment to peace and the need to eradicate the menace of terrorism, commending their role in advancing India's voice on global platforms. The Prime Minister's statement prior to his departure emphasized that this tour is an opportunity to thank partner countries for their steadfast support to India in its fight against cross-border terrorism and to galvanize global understanding on tackling terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

This diplomatic outreach is particularly significant in light of India's unwavering adherence to a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. By engaging with key partners in Cyprus, Canada, and Croatia, PM Modi aims to foster a unified global approach to counter-terrorism efforts, ensuring that nations stand together in combating this global threat. The tour also serves to highlight India's growing global engagement and its strategic intent to strengthen cooperation across Europe and North America, reinforcing its position as a key player in addressing global challenges and promoting peace and security.
