Karisma Kapoor was recently spotted returning to Mumbai with her children, Samaira and Kiaan, after attending a prayer meet in Delhi for her former husband, Sunjay Kapur. Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 53, after suffering a cardiac arrest during a polo match in England.
The prayer meet, held on June 22, 2025, at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, was attended by close family and friends. Karisma was seen arriving at the venue with her children. Her sister, Kareena Kapoor, and brother-in-law, Saif Ali Khan, also accompanied her, offering support during this difficult time. The Kapoor family members were all photographed wearing white outfits as a sign of respect.
Videos and photos circulating on social media show Karisma and her children at Mumbai's Kalina airport before departing for Delhi. After arriving in Delhi, Karisma, Samaira, and Kiaan were seen entering the Taj Palace Hotel, followed by Kareena and Saif. The prayer meet took place between 4 pm and 5 pm.
At the prayer meet, Karisma Kapoor was seen standing beside Sunjay Kapur's current wife, Priya Sachdev, as they both paid their respects. This moment was particularly poignant, highlighting a sense of unity and respect between the two women during a time of grief. Priya Sachdev was accompanied by her children, Azarias and Safira, while Karisma's children, Samaira and Kiaan, were also present to honor their father.
Other notable attendees included Neha Dhupia, a close friend of Karisma Kapoor, who was seen offering her condolences. Visuals from the event showed Karisma standing quietly before a large floral tribute to Sunjay, surrounded by family, friends, and mourners.
Sunjay Kapur's funeral was held in New Delhi. According to reports, Sunjay's funeral faced delays due to his US citizenship, but the last rites were eventually conducted at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground.
Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur married in 2003 in a private ceremony. Although they divorced in 2016, they remained connected through their children, Samaira and Kiaan. The recent events demonstrate the family's commitment to supporting each other during this period of mourning.
