Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal celebrated their first wedding anniversary on June 23, 2025, marking a year since their intimate marriage in 2024. The couple, who have been together for eight years, celebrated this milestone with close friends and family in Mumbai.
The anniversary celebration was an intimate affair, much like their wedding. Sonakshi and Zaheer were seen earlier in the day outside a restaurant, both dressed in white outfits. The evening party was attended by several notable personalities from Bollywood.
Among the attendees was Sonakshi's mother, Poonam Sinha, who looked radiant in a golden saree. Zaheer was seen escorting his mother-in-law to her car, a gesture that was appreciated by fans online, who lauded him as a "Sanskari Damaad". Other celebrity guests included Huma Qureshi, a close friend of Sonakshi, who dazzled in a white outfit with black bows and was seen dancing with Zaheer. Farah Khan also attended, posing for the paparazzi in a printed kurta and blue denim. Rajkummar Rao and his wife, Patralekha, were also present, adding to the star-studded guest list.
Sonakshi shared a heartfelt message for Zaheer on Instagram, expressing her love and joy. She wrote, "Happy Anniversary, husband of 1 year, and boyfriend of 8 – ILYSM I could burst." She also shared glimpses of a late-night anniversary surprise from her in-laws, featuring decorations with silver, pink, and white balloons.
To commemorate their first anniversary, Sonakshi and Zaheer released "Mastaani," a song chronicling moments from their wedding day. The music video included emotional moments of Sonakshi as a bride, her brothers presenting her bridal dupatta, and her parents sharing in the celebration.
Sonakshi and Zaheer's love story began at a party hosted by Salman Khan. In an interview, Sonakshi revealed that Salman Khan was like a 'sutradhar' in their love story. She shared that Zaheer proposed to her during a trip to Finland under the Northern Lights. She recalled the surreal moment, saying, "It was beautiful, under the Northern Lights and all. It was surreal!".
The wedding reception was a grand affair with many Bollywood celebrities in attendance, including Salman Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rekha, Tabu, Honey Singh, Kajol and Vidya Balan. Videos from the reception showed the couple dancing to Sonakshi's debut track "Tere Mast Mast Do Nain".
