Shefali Jariwala, the actress and model best known for her "Kaanta Laga" music video and her participation in Bigg Boss 13, has died in Mumbai. She was 42 years old.
Jariwala was reportedly rushed to the hospital by her husband, Parag Tyagi, and three others after suffering a cardiac arrest late Friday night. Doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. Her body was then transferred to Cooper Hospital around 12:30 a.m. for a postmortem examination. According to the Assistant Medical Officer (AMO) at Cooper Hospital, the postmortem report will confirm the exact cause of death.
Mumbai Police arrived at Jariwala's Andheri residence late Friday night to begin an investigation. A forensic team was also dispatched and conducted a thorough examination of the premises. While authorities have not released an official statement regarding the cause of her death, the presence of police and forensic experts suggests the case is being treated as potentially suspicious.
Shefali Jariwala rose to prominence in the early 2000s with the hit music video "Kaanta Laga". She also appeared in Salman Khan's film "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" and the web series "Baby Come Naa" in 2019. Additionally, Jariwala participated in dance reality shows like "Boogie Woogie" and "Nach Baliye". She was also a contestant on Bigg Boss 13.
News of Jariwala's death has prompted tributes from colleagues and fans. Kamya Panjabi, Mika Singh, and Aly Goni have all expressed their condolences. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also shared a message on X, expressing disbelief at her passing and extending condolences to her family.
