AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi strongly criticized the BJP-led central government, dismissing claims about illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Parbhani. Speaking in Parbhani, Maharashtra, Owaisi asserted that "no Bangladeshi will dare to come to Parbhani". He accused the BJP of raising the issue of illegal immigration to divert attention from their failures.
Owaisi's address covered a range of issues, including national security, border management, and the integrity of intelligence agencies. He accused the BJP of creating a false narrative around immigration to polarize voters and questioned the effectiveness of the government's border security measures. He argued that if the government were truly concerned about national security, it would focus on strengthening the country's intelligence apparatus and addressing systemic issues within border control agencies.
Owaisi has been a vocal critic of the BJP government's policies, particularly those affecting the Muslim community. He has accused the BJP of using its majority in Parliament to pass laws that disproportionately impact Muslims, citing the Waqf Amendment Act as an example. He has also spoken out against what he perceives as the government's silence on the "genocide" in Gaza, questioning the compromise of India's traditional stance on Palestine.
In a public meeting in Parbhani, Owaisi also attacked Pakistan following a recent terror attack at Pahalgam. He stated that Pakistan is "half a century behind India". He criticized Pakistani leaders and highlighted the disparity between Pakistan's budget and India's military budget. Owaisi also condemned the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack, who he said asked tourists their religion before killing them.
Owaisi has urged the public to protest the Waqf (Amendment) Act and has criticized leaders who support the bill. He accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of betraying the community and said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had jeopardized his son's political future by backing the Bill. He has also warned the government that the Waqf law in its present form would violate articles 25, 26, and 14, leading to social instability. He asserted that he would not lose an inch of his Masjid or Dargah.
