Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been at the center of a political and personal storm following a controversial social media post and subsequent actions by his family and party. The saga took a new turn recently as Tej Pratap met with Anushka Yadav, the woman whose photo with him on social media triggered his expulsion from the RJD.

Last month, a post appeared on Tej Pratap's Facebook account, featuring a photo of him with Anushka Yadav and claiming that they had been in a relationship for the past 12 years. The post, which has since been deleted, read, "I am Tej Pratap Yadav, and the person seen with me in this photo is Anushka Yadav! We have known and loved each other for the past 12 years. We have been in a relationship for the last 12 years". This sparked widespread attention and debate, especially considering Tej Pratap's existing marriage to Aishwarya Rai, granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai. Their divorce petition is still pending in court.

Following the viral post, Tej Pratap claimed that his Facebook account had been hacked and that the images were doctored to defame him and his family. However, the damage was already done. His father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, took swift action, expelling Tej Pratap from the RJD for six years and disowning him from the family. Lalu Prasad stated that Tej Pratap's "irresponsible behaviour" and conduct were not in line with the family's values.

In the wake of his expulsion, Tej Pratap expressed his feelings towards his parents, stating that they are his world and that their instructions are bigger than God. He also took a dig at those within the party who endorsed his expulsion, hinting at betrayal.

Adding another layer to the controversy, Tej Pratap's estranged wife, Aishwarya Rai, accused her in-laws of ruining her life by marrying her to Tej Pratap despite his alleged long-term relationship with Anushka Yadav. She questioned why she was married if everyone knew about the supposed 12-year affair.

Despite the expulsion from the party and family discord, Tej Pratap remains defiant. He recently met with Anushka Yadav in Patna, stating, "We have family relations, so I have come here. No one can stop me from going anywhere. I am in contact with everyone". He asserted that no one can remove him from the hearts of the people. In an interview, when asked about his relationship with Anushka, Tej Pratap said that there is nothing wrong with loving someone and that love is universal. He declared that it was indeed his post and that he posted it himself. He further added that he is not afraid to face the upcoming elections in 2025 and that the people of Bihar will decide his role.

The incident has sparked a political storm in Bihar, with opposition parties terming it a pre-election stunt. With the Bihar assembly elections approaching, it remains to be seen how this scandal will impact the RJD's prospects and Tej Pratap's political future.
