A horrifying incident in Madhya Pradesh has exposed severe lapses in public safety and hospital security after a Class 12 student was brutally murdered in broad daylight. On June 27, 2025, Sandhya Chaudhary, 19, was attacked inside the Narsinghpur district hospital by Abhishek Koshti, allegedly a jilted lover. The gruesome act occurred in full public view, yet no one intervened to save her.

Sandhya had gone to the hospital to check on an acquaintance in the maternity ward. Abhishek Koshti, who had reportedly been stalking her and was obsessed with her, confronted her outside the Trauma Center. Eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage reveal that after a brief conversation, Koshti physically assaulted Sandhya, slitting her throat with a knife.

The attack occurred near the emergency ward, close to the trauma center. Despite the presence of hospital staff, security guards, and other bystanders, no one stepped in to help Sandhya. Some people even walked past as she bled to death on the hospital floor. Reports indicate that there were 14 guards in the hospital, with two posted outside the trauma center. Additionally, there were reportedly 11 patients present at the time of the incident.

Sandhya died at the scene due to excessive bleeding. The police and forensic teams arrived shortly after the incident, and her body remained at the location for several hours during the investigation. Upon being notified, Sandhya's family staged a road blockade, demanding immediate action. Senior officials assured a thorough probe, and the protest was called off later that night.

Police apprehended the accused, Abhishek Koshti, within an hour of the murder. According to police reports, Koshti and Sandhya knew each other for over two years, having connected through social media. Koshti claimed that he suspected Sandhya of seeing someone else since January 2025 and admitted to planning to kill her and then take his own life. He reportedly attempted self-harm after the attack but failed.

The incident has sparked outrage and raised serious questions about the safety and security measures in place at the hospital. The fact that such a violent crime could occur in a public place, with numerous witnesses failing to intervene, has drawn widespread condemnation. Authorities have launched an investigation into the security protocols at the hospital and the response of the staff present during the attack.
