The first look of the highly anticipated film "Ramayana" has been revealed, offering a glimpse into the epic world created by director Nitesh Tiwari. The film boasts a star-studded cast, with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Ravie Dubey will be playing Lakshman. The first part of the film is scheduled to release in theaters during Diwali 2026, with the second part following in Diwali 2027.

The "Ramayana" is an ancient Indian epic that narrates the life of Lord Rama, his exile to the forest, and the abduction of his wife Sita by the demon king Ravana. With the help of his brother Lakshman and the monkey god Hanuman, Rama wages a battle to rescue Sita and restore dharma.

The first look, a three-minute preview, was presented to the world on Thursday, July 3rd, offering the audience's first introduction to Nitesh Tiwari's vision of the "Ramayana". The teaser begins by introducing the cosmic trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, whose powers hold the universe in balance. It sets the stage for the epic battle between Rama and Ravana, the timeless struggle of good over evil, described as the war to 'end all wars' and restore universal harmony.

Producer Namit Malhotra shared insights about the film's vision at the WAVES Summit 2025, emphasizing that the project aims to present a distinctly Indian story to a global audience, using advanced technology to bring cultural authenticity and depth to the characters and narrative. The film is being shot in IMAX and will feature music by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. Top Hollywood stunt directors Terry Notary (Avengers, Planet of the Apes) and Guy Norris (Mad Max: Fury Road) are also part of the team.

The makers of 'Ramayana' officially announced the film by releasing its first logo on July 3rd. Although a teaser featuring Ranbir and Sai Pallavi is already completed, the team has decided to hold off on releasing it for now, as the Nitesh Tiwari-directed project is still about 18 months away from its scheduled release.

The film's story will be told across two separate parts. The makers will unveil the logo through a digital event, which will also reaffirm the release dates for the two installments set for Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027.
