The entertainment world is mourning the sudden demise of Shefali Jariwala, who passed away on June 27 at the age of 42 due to cardiac arrest. Days after her shocking death, a prayer meet was held on July 2 in Mumbai to honor her memory. A heart-wrenching video from the prayer meeting has emerged, capturing the raw emotions of Shefali's loved ones.
In the video, Shefali's father, Satish Jariwala, is seen weeping inconsolably as he remembers his daughter. Her husband, Parag Tyagi, visibly emotional himself, is by his side, offering comfort and support. Parag is seen sitting alongside Shefali's father, consoling him as he breaks down in tears. The poignant scene underscores the deep bond they shared with Shefali and the profound loss they are experiencing. The prayer meet invite poignantly read: "Some stars shine too brightly to ever fade — even after they're gone, their light remains".
Several other visuals from Shefali's final rites at Oshiwara crematorium have also surfaced, showing the family grieving. A video showed Parag Tyagi unable to control his emotions as he carried Shefali's ashes to the ocean for asthi visarjan. Many people from the industry attended the prayer meet to pay their respects. Mika Singh was seen supporting Shefali's mother, who was visibly devastated. Paras and Vishal Singh, who appeared on Bigg Boss, also attended the prayer meet.
Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, Parag Tyagi, and three others after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Oshiwara residence. She was declared dead on arrival. According to reports, the police questioned Parag Tyagi following Shefali's death. However, the autopsy revealed no foul play.
Close friend Pooja Ghai revealed some details of the night Shefali passed away. According to Pooja, Shefali had taken a vitamin C IV drip on the day of her death. Pooja shared that Parag had gone downstairs to walk their dog when he received a call from their house help to come back, as Shefali wasn't feeling well. When Parag found Shefali, her "pulse was still on, her eyes were not opening, and she just had dead weight to her body". He rushed her to the hospital, but she was declared dead.
Initial reports suggested that Shefali may have taken an anti-aging injection on an empty stomach, potentially triggering the cardiac arrest. However, while the autopsy ruled out foul play, the exact cause of death remains undetermined. Tissue samples have been sent for histopathology, and her viscera has been preserved for chemical analysis at Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory.
Shefali Jariwala rose to fame with the 2002 music video "Kaanta Laga". She also appeared in the film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. She later participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye with her husband, Parag Tyagi, and entered the Bigg Boss 13 house.
