Park Seo Joon has reportedly been offered the lead role in the upcoming K-drama "I Am A Sinner," a thrilling underworld survival story based on the webtoon of the same name by Lee Moo Gi. While Park Seo Joon's side hasn't yet confirmed his participation, reports suggest he is considering the offer to play the character Paeng I (Park Eon Jin).

"I Am A Sinner" tells the story of a man named Paeng I, who becomes entangled with a drug-dealing gang after surviving a chaotic incident at a gold shop and acquiring the stolen gold. The drama promises an intense and dark narrative, a departure from Park Seo Joon's previous roles, offering him a chance to showcase a different side of his acting abilities.

Paeng I is depicted as the youngest member of the gang, who joins the criminal organization after a tragic event. Despite being the newcomer, he rises to become one of the most proficient members, driven by his ambition and relentless pursuit of power. He is portrayed as a tough, calculating, and merciless individual who dominates the narcotics trade with his intellect and willpower, willing to exploit conflicts between rival groups to his advantage.

The webtoon "I Am A Sinner" has been available on Kakao Webtoon since 2022, gaining a strong following for its intense and suspenseful storyline. The drama adaptation is expected to deliver action and unexpected twists, providing Park Seo Joon with an opportunity to explore a darker, more complex character.

This potential role marks a significant shift for Park Seo Joon, who is known for his diverse filmography spanning various genres, including romantic comedies, action, and youth dramas. Some of his notable works include "Itaewon Class," "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim," "Fight for My Way," and "Gyeongseong Creature". He also made his Hollywood debut in "The Marvels".

Currently, Park Seo Joon is filming "Waiting for Gyeongdo," a romantic comedy set to premiere in December 2025, where he plays a "lover boy" character. If he accepts the role in "I Am A Sinner," it would be his next project after "Waiting for Gyeongdo," showcasing his ability to transition between vastly different characters.

As of now, details regarding the rest of the cast, production team, premiere date, and broadcasting platform for "I Am A Sinner" are yet to be revealed. However, anticipation is building among fans to see Park Seo Joon potentially take on this challenging and transformative role in what could be his first noir K-drama.
