Genelia Deshmukh has addressed a viral video featuring her, her husband Riteish Deshmukh, and actress Preity Zinta, clarifying the situation with her characteristic humor and honesty. The video, which circulated widely on social media, appeared to show Genelia reacting with displeasure while Riteish greeted Preity with a hug and a kiss on the hand. This sparked speculation among fans and gossip columns, with many suggesting Genelia was exhibiting jealousy.

In an exclusive chat, Genelia laughed off the rumors and set the record straight. She explained that the viral moment was taken out of context. According to Genelia, the event was an awards function that she was attending after a long time. She had dressed up and wore high heels, but after meeting many people and engaging in conversations, her feet were "killing" her. As Riteish and Preity were conversing, the cameraman captured her expressions of discomfort.

Addressing the chatter about being a "possessive wife," Genelia stated that these speculations meant very little to her. She emphasized the strength and depth of her bond with Riteish, stating that it couldn't be shaken by such frivolous things. "I'm very clear that I have to be Riteish's number one. I don't care about these things. They are too frivolous for us. We've dated for 23 years now!" she asserted. She dismissed the idea that the video was indicative of any real issue, saying, "People keep trying to blow it out of proportion. The video with Preity was amazing, but there are so many after videos that have come out which are rubbish. I don't think it makes any sense. It's just blown out of proportion, trying to be something".

Genelia also humorously acknowledged the cameraman's role in creating the viral sensation. She quipped, "Hats off to the cameraman who shot it. He did a great job of shooting it. It's a good laugh". She also added that her expression didn't reflect jealousy, but rather her social battery running out. "I was dying. I was like, oh god, I wanna go home. But it was a good laugh," she said.

Both Riteish and Genelia have responded to the video with humor. In the past, they even created their own version of the video, adding a clip that showed Genelia playfully scolding Riteish at home after the awards function. Genelia’s reaction and subsequent clarification highlight her down-to-earth nature and ability to not take social media buzz too seriously.
