Abhishek Bachchan Denies Divorce Rumours with Aishwarya Rai

Abhishek Bachchan has recently addressed the persistent rumors circulating about his marriage to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, firmly dismissing any speculation of an impending divorce. In a recent interview with Instant Bollywood, Abhishek stated, "I go back home to a happy family". He further emphasized that Aishwarya, like his mother Jaya Bachchan, shields their family from the negativity and unwarranted attention of the outside world.

The rumors gained traction after the couple made separate appearances at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding. Further fueling speculation, Aishwarya's social media posts from their daughter Aaradhya's birthday celebration did not include any members of the Bachchan family, including Abhishek. Additionally, Abhishek was notably absent from Aishwarya's appearances at the Cannes Film Festival this year, intensifying public interest in their relationship.

Abhishek, who comes from one of Bollywood's most iconic families, said that growing up in the film industry has taught him to distinguish between reality and gossip. "I have grown up in this film industry, so I also know what to take seriously and what not to take seriously. I don't get affected by what's happening on social media," he asserted. He acknowledged that while such chatter might affect younger actors just starting out, with time, one develops a "thick skin".

The couple, who married in 2007 and have a daughter named Aaradhya, have often been the target of online rumors. In April 2025, they celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary, and fans were happy to see them together.

In a 2010 interview, Aishwarya and Abhishek revealed insights into their relationship, admitting to daily disagreements while clarifying that they are minor and healthy for their bond. They also shared a rule of never going to bed angry. Abhishek humorously claimed he usually apologizes first, often just to end the argument and get some sleep.

Abhishek has also praised Aishwarya for her pivotal role in their daughter Aaradhya's upbringing. He credited her entirely, stating, "I get to go out and make my movies, and Aishwarya does the heavy lifting with Aaradhya. She's amazing and selfless". He emphasized that mothers prioritize their children above everything else.

Ram Kapoor Responds to Smriti Irani Comment

Actor Ram Kapoor has responded to the controversy surrounding his comments about politician and former actress Smriti Irani. In a resurfaced interview, Kapoor spoke about body image in the TV industry and used Irani as an example, which led to criticism.

Kapoor, who recently underwent a significant weight loss journey, acknowledged the challenges overweight performers face. He cited Irani as an example of someone who defied this, achieving success despite her weight. "She was my size as a woman and probably more successful than I. It is just that she left earlier," Kapoor said.

He described Irani's transformation during "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi," noting that she gained weight as the show progressed due to the character's evolution into a grandmother. Kapoor added that Irani gained weight to stay true to her character.

However, his comments were perceived by some as reducing Irani's accomplishments to her body size and reinforcing harmful stereotypes. Some users questioned the need to compare weight to success, deeming it "arrogant and rude".

In response to the backlash, Kapoor clarified that "Smriti knows what I meant, and I know what I meant. The other people don't matter to her, or me".
