A man in Haridwar, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend after suspecting her of having an affair. The incident occurred on Monday at the Sidkul intersection.
The accused, Pradeep Pal, 28, allegedly slit the throat of Hansika Yadav, 22, with a knife. Kamal Bhandari, the Station House Officer (SHO), stated that the couple had been in a relationship for over four years and had been living together for a significant period. Both individuals were originally from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, and were employed in Haridwar.
According to initial investigations, Pal suspected Yadav of infidelity, which led him to commit the murder. Yadav, who worked in a factory in Sidkul, was on her way out for some work when Pal allegedly attacked her. After the attack, Pal fled the scene. Yadav was immediately taken to a hospital, where she was declared dead. Senior police officers arrived at the scene after receiving reports of the incident. A police team has been formed to apprehend Pal, who is currently on the run. Reports indicate that the couple had been experiencing discord and were not on speaking terms.
In a similar incident, a man in Noida was arrested for allegedly killing his partner after his family discovered their relationship. Mukeem, 38, allegedly murdered Shabnam, 37, in Nirman Vihar Colony on Friday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida), Shakti Mohan Awasthy, said that the victim was also married. Mukeem was apprehended on Saturday following an encounter with the police, during which he sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
Mukeem confessed to killing Shabnam because his wife and children objected to their eight-year-long relationship and pressured him to end it. On Friday, Mukeem called Shabnam to a rented room and killed her with a knife. Shabnam had been living separately from her husband for the past eight years, and both Shabuddin and Mukeem were relatives.
These incidents highlight a disturbing trend of violence against women stemming from suspicions of infidelity or disapproval of relationships. Law enforcement agencies are actively investigating these cases and working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
